Illustration or drawing (verb) is the act of making marks on a surface to create an image, a form or a shape. Illustration is a fundamental part of all processes at CREATE DESIGN ™, it is a skill that has become our signature and that informs everything that we do. While sipping a morning coffee or answering the telephone there is always series of doodles that emerge from ideas or as reminders. At the start of each project before definite plans have been presented, drawings are created as explorations of themes and concepts. Once the project commences all branding and concept is created on paper before translating anything into a digital process. Very often the final work will involve both hand rendered illustration, digital illustration and photography all created in house by CREATE DESIGN ™.

Raquel de Castro Maia our illustration diva (Co-Director of CREATE DESIGN ™) has a degree in illustration, imaging, and photography.
